The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released a study examining fatalities for model year vehicles 2009 through 2012 and discovered nine models that had zero fatalities per million registered vehicles. It’s no surprise that the nine safest models were SUVs.
The nine models with zero deaths were:
- Audi A4 (Luxury sedan)
- Hondy Odyssey (Minivan)
- Kia Sorento (Midsize SUV)
- Lexus RX 350 (Luxury SUV)
- Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (Luxury SUV)
- Subaru Legacy (Midsize Car)
- Toyota Highlander hybrid (Midsize SUV)
- Toyota Sequoia (Large SUV)
- Volvo XC90 (Midsize SUV)
