Volkswagen has agreed to buy back or repair 475,000 vehicles with 2-liter diesel engines. The expected settlement may get preliminary approval from a judge this Tuesday with the final approval likely this fall. There are still about 80,000 3-liter diesel engines that aren’t covered by this settlement - stay tuned for updates on those vehicles.
Model years 2009-2016 are affected by the Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal. The range of values for the affected diesels before the scandal became public on September 18, 2015 are $12,500 to $44,000. Owners who sell their cars back would get the clean trade-in value as determined by the National Automobile Dealers Association. An additional compensation of $5,100-$10,000 will be paid out (and can be estimated by our tool) whether the owner opts for the buyback or to have VW fix their cars.
We designed this free tool to make it easier to see the estimated amount that Volkswagen will pay you. Please check out the official Volkswagen diesel info site to find out more www.VWCourtSettlement.com.
